As a family-run business, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and personalized care to each of our clients. Our roots are deeply embedded in the local community, and we are committed to enhancing the beauty, health, and practicality of your property.
Our Story
Initially founded in 2018, Z’s Tree Services quickly became a trusted name in trees in the Shawano, Oconto, and Menominee County areas. Our knowledge of arboriculture and forestry have allowed us to assist thousands of customers since opening. With each year that passes, we have expanded our knowledge and abilities on dirt, rock, and earthscaping; this initially was out of necessity, such as lawn repair after stump grinding, soil quality corrections, or erosion prevention/repair for tree health. As our capabilities expanded, we had to form roads into wooded job sites. Now, this has expanded to enjoying seasonal work and landscaping, and building lasting hardscapes. Our business was born from a desire to blend our love for the outdoors with our commitment to serving the community, and that is why we formally expanded our offering of services and relaunched as Z’s Forestry & Earthworks in 2024.
Now as a family of six, our home, affectionately known as "Z’s Funny Farm," is filled with the joyful chaos of four children, three dogs, and (for legal reasons) eight chickens. This lively environment is who we are. Hard work, teamwork, and a love of dirt, rock, tree, and water has created a deep appreciation for functionable and useable outdoor spaces, surrounded by beautiful, low maintenance, and healthy woods. Over the years, we've developed a strong connection to the land and the people of the Legend Lake and Shawano areas, and we take pride in caring for our surroundings and for our neighbors. We believe that a beautiful yard is more than just an aesthetic choice—it's an investment in your home and your well-being.

Here at Z’s Forestry & Earthworks, we believe in the Pyramid of Service; this represents the basis for core expectations in any transaction for goods or services. We do our best to balance the three, but affordability will always take a back seat to quality, and promptness here often translates to dependability. If you want an affordable and quality result, it probably won’t be prompt or dependable. If you want a quality and prompt result, it probably won’t be what one would consider cheap. If you want an affordable and immediate result, it probably won’t be quality. This view on things can be applied to most every voluntary transaction one will ever commit to, and we felt like laying it out here, as food for thought, and something to think about when contacting a trusted company that does quality work.
